Opening Celebration
For the very first time ever, Ypsilanti will host its official Juneteenth Parade — a powerful public display of freedom, remembrance, Black culture, and community unity.
As we celebrate this year’s theme, Juneteenth Rising: Liberation Through Unity, we invite families, organizations, churches, youth groups, businesses, elected officials, and the entire community to come line the streets, wave your flags, and be a part of this historic moment.
Friday, June 19th
Parade Begins at 5:30PM
Presented by Washtenaw County, City of Ypsilanti, Survivors Speak, and many amazing community partners, this will be more than a parade — this will be a declaration that Juneteenth belongs visibly, boldly, and joyfully in Ypsilanti.
And when the parade ends, the celebration continues with a special Parade Reception Performance by the phenomenal Alise King!
